Bali Day #6, July 12th, 2013 Tanah Lot Part 1 of 2 The MARKET

Today we decided to visit the Temple in the Ocean, Tanah Lot.  We had a different driver today, Mame; he's married to Bu Gade.  He is the same driver who picked us up at the airport when we arrived!   This time, we piled into his van, a nearly new Toyota Van.  Tanah Lot is about 1.5 hours away through Kuta, Legion, Semanyek and many small villages laced with cascading rice paddies.  The paddies are not as beautiful as last time because they are planting and the rice plants that have grown are small so you end up seeing a lot of water instead of plants.

Bli Made came with us today along with Mame, Bu Gade, Geisha (their Daughter), and my crew.

I took a lot of photos of the market and the temple.  This is Part 1, the Market.

Rice paddies.

More paddies.

Entrance to the Tanah Lot village.

Market with Bli Made (brother-in-law and my wife, Sani). I bought those flip flops for him because his old ones broke and died a horrible death.

Bu Gade, Geisha and Alex (who was being a problem the time).

Wood carving shop.

Seashells to buy, for those too lazy to spend the time to find (which is the real reason to visit the beach right)

Alex is now behaving.

Christian wood carving of the last supper.

All wood, all hand carved.  We watched them carve a bhudda.

A painting I wanted to buy but was too expensive.  Decided to look around for something cheaper that can be packed in a suitcase.

Sani eating a mango flavored Magnum bar.
